@Lamporre I would have liked that too, but then it would have just clashed with Garak's relationship to Ziyal. Plus half the things he does in the movie means that he'd either be carrying his daughter in tow during dangerous missions or left behind in someone else's care. Though in that case, it could be Bashir who acts as a sort of uncle :P

That really would have been an awesome ending! I always wondered what happened to that girl. She made me get teary-eyed, and I don't even like kids.

The only problem Garak seems to have every time he delivers his wit he seems to get punched for his effort.

"Really?! Perhaps we have met!"Absolutly brilliant delivery. Garak is without a doubt the highlight of DS9 for me.

One amazing alternate ending I always had in mind would if after Garak makes his point of details 'scattered all over the table', we see Bashir smile, then look shocked as the little girl from 5:39 joins Garak. He then reveals that he ignored the rules for once. And then we get a new supporting character in the form of his adopted daughter. It would also have played into how Garak is not welcome in Cardassia, if he adopts a child and raises it as if it were his own. |
