definitely The Rock

Yeah, for all his genius, Rodenberry had some messed up ideas, the least of which was "stealing" the Yorktown. Can you imagine the backlash if he'd made "The God Thing" into the original motion picture?Great video, by the way.

Nicely done! I like your music choice. I know I have heard it somewhere, sounds like the theme from "Crimson Tide" or maybe or maybe "The Rock"?

You'll get no argument from me. The writers of Trek lore with their myriad inconsistencies have given us these issues. I just tried to give the best explanation based on the available data. BTW, an old book called Mr Scott's Guide to the Enterprise, stated that the "A" was originally a new build called the USS Ti-Ho. The Ti-Ho was returning from trial runs when the whalesong incident occurred. So you weren't far off with your "maybe". Thanks for watching!

I really don't like the idea that the 1701-A was a "used" starship. Maybe Starfleet was building a new Constitution class vessel, and just decided to name it Enterprise?Plus, how would you feel if you just limped back to Spacedock on a makeshift solar sail your chief engineer rigged up after getting attacked by the whale probe, only to have the admiralty tell you "Sorry, guy! Kirk stole his ship from us and destroyed it, so we're giving him yours! kthxbye"

When Riker and LaForge rescued Scotty from the stasis in TNG's "Relics," and they told him they were from the Enterprise, Scotty said "I bet Jim Kirk himself hauled the old girl from mothballs to come looking."Now, Scotty SHOULD have thought Kirk was dead (ST: Generations), so he obviously wasn't himself, but it's clear he thought the Enterprise was still around, either 1701-A or 1701-B.

Awesome Video ! Well Done ! I just wish there was a video of the ultimate fate of the Enterprise - A. I think she was destroyed while defending some planet she was bought privately to protect. I could be wrong though

Fantastic job. My first upload to Youtube was also on the Enterpise of the Kirk Era. From the Constatution class, the refit, and then the replacement ship to bear the name of Enterprise. Yours is way better.

@000destruct1 I read the book for VH, and it mentions the Yorktown as being flown past... so according to the novelisation of ST4 the Yorktown was not re-named |
