I saw this movie and think it was no less impressive than Avatar - great acting, directing, magnificent visual effects. Chris Pine, Winona Ryder, Eric Bana and Jennifer Morrison did a brilliant job!!!

It was Russian, not German. And Anton Yelchin (the actor) was born to a Russian family, which is why he can do it so well - though he's said himself that he didn't make it as accurate as he could have, out of tribute to the original Chekov.
