This film is a fucking insult to Gene Roddenberry's original idea. It's as if the franchise were a toy and Paramount lent it to their new playmate J J Abrams, who then decided he wasn't going to give it back. Never has a movie's camera work made me feel so nauseous and disoriented - hasn't the man ever heard of fucking tripods? The plot was even weaker and more pointless than Avatar's and don't even get me started on the redesigned Enterprise. Bullshit from start to finish.

Ofc this is a bad movie... Great visual effects, cool fighting, choked full of action - bleah! I remember the old amazing stuff like in watch?v=Z1eFdUSnaQM&feature=fvw , that was good. Dis here movie sux.Dudes, nobody burnt all the DVD's with the old series. You can still watch that. And keep in mind, you DON"T own the ST franchise. The owners can decide whatever the fcuk they want, even Vulcans speaking Esperanto...My bro hates movies with aliens, has no damn clue about ST. And he said dis OK

@0vershade: Im not even any sort of hardcore trekkie. It was just a bad movie. You dont have to be a nerd or a trekkie to appreciate that Star Trek has a unique place in the culture. It's a piece of cinematic history just like movies such as Casablanca, Star Wars, The Searchers, Gone With the Wind, and The Graduate are. What if they 'reimagined' Rhett Butler as a wise-cracking punk? Also it was just a bad movie and its box office ensures more bad movies will be made.

@yourLoyalBaron..As opposed to "if you didn't like the new Trek, you're a graduate who has to teach at MIT"?I see this kind of nerdrage in many franchises, games I play, trilogies... When the story develops in other direction that the fans imagine, then the new stuff automatically sucks. Or it's deemed uncanonical. Why would C Pine channel from Shatner? His char grew up without a father, unlike Shatner's. Don't you think that results in a different personality?

@yourLoyalBaron And you need to get a life or marry that Rinda loser, since you share a single brain cell.

@yourLoyalBaron "If you liked the new Trek you are an effing moron who needs to repeat grade school. "Right, and you gave so much credibility to your post by double posting your "review" with one of the reviews starting off with "The new Trek sucked so much balls." Please share more.

Good point, but DID they have Both audiences? This generation is ready to watch any movie with proper marketing, the true legacy of Star Trek did not survive though..
