Who the hell said about anything being written in stone? Of course anything can happen on race day! It certainly happened to both Mick & Rainey, both during and at the end of their careers...they both ended their careers in the dirt. IMO, these two & Rossi are the most talented riders of the modern era. When I say Doohan would have won those years "easy", I simply mean by points, not by effort. Yes nothings easy but you can still win by a comfortable (large) margin...& yes covered in sweat :)

Only reason Rainey was well on the way to the title in '93 & mick wasn't was because mick was doing it on one leg. Like ADVlCEDOG said, barring injury, Doohan would have won both of those years easy. His leg was bending like a freekin' banana in '93.

Rainey would have won 93 if it hadn't of been for his crippling Misano crash...he was well on the way to a 4th world title until that accident ruined his career.

I have followed MotoGP since Anderstorp 1983, and Mick is in my opinion the best rider since then. I think he could have won 10 years in a row if not injured. Thank you Mick for all the entertainment over the years!
