Considering the era this was filmed in, a mere 20 years after the end of the Second World War, the special effects are awesome.

@mapiy that's a very nice troll comment. I mean, wait that's exactly what I mean.

@wardenphil. "Why would the View screen ever NOT be turned on?" Saves energy or maybe the captain likes it off. Keep in mind a star ship is not a car; you don't need to see where youre going when you have sensors and star charts programmed into the ships computer. The view screen is like the old submarine periscopes.

@PrincessJoyanne. He did not get the T for a middle initial till half way through the first season. His middle name did not exist till the animated series. His middle name was not used more then three times. First in ST: AS. Episode "Bem" Second the novel Star Trek The Motion Picture. Third Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country. (the last movie does not count because it was not Star Trek)

Starting at 3:59, why would the Viewscreen ever NOT be turned on?

@greg5566. "Grease" "Greece", its all Greek to me. lol. I know I spell knife "nife". But Im not alone; many fine scientists cant spell and/or have bad grammar in writing. Some like Einstein cant do simple math. Despite what you may think, its only a sign of a lack of intelligence if one does not acknowledge the problem.

As for your Oscars comment about Hollywood patting itself on the back for making crappy movies, by jove, I think he's finally got it!That's exactly what I've been saying all along. Hooray.Okay, so, bye!(Oh, except I would still love to hear about these grammar mistakes I've made.)
