That is, if they know that the reason the Klingon weapons are going through is because they know the shield modulation frequency. Any number of other reasons in dozens of films, episodes, and novels of Star Trek show there is more than one way to penetrate a shield. How would they know that the Klingons know their shield modulation?

The Enterprise does but I guess it quicker to put everyone in the saucer section because most people will already be in the saucer section, :)

Surely a ship as large as the enterprise would have some sort of lifeboats to use, why evacuate everyone into one part of the ship and hope you have enough time to escape?

You all have to remember that these movies were also made for ST lore/ tech ignorant folks such as myself, lol. I mean, I loved whatever episodes of TNG that I saw when I was about 6 ish, but you have to remember that action+ a name like Star Trek = sales. Look at the new Star Trek movie or STO the game. I loves me the Galaxy class <333As for the crash landing.... /applause.
